Designing Around Movesets

In this project, I wanted to make something of a Super Mario Maker level, but with a unique version of Mario.  So I modified a fan recreation of Super Mario Bros and made a level in it.  The fundamental change I made was removing Mario's trademark momentum; holding down the run button instantly increased Mario's speed.  To make this more interesting, I modified Mario's jump height so that he would make tall but narrow jumps when walking and long but short jumps when running.  Oddly enough, this gave Mario the feel of Super Mario 64, where the player has normal and long jumps (as well as others) to tackle platforming challenges.
