Joint Temporal Custody
Joint Temporal Custody is a retro puzzle platformer where you share the controls with time.
Each level is turned into a tight puzzle when the each of the four actions the player can perform are dictated by time or disabled entirely. The original jam version had 30 levels total.
Ranked 28th out of the 5,413 entries in the GMTK Game Jam 2020.

Development Process
Check out this interview I did with Bluish-Green Productions to see how I went about the development process for the game jam version.
Post Jam Update
I kept a list of all the things I didn't get a chance to add in the initial 48 hours. These included a level select menu, an options menu to toggle screenshake and lower the volume, and jump input buffer. I wasn't able to add in jump input storage (so the player would jump as soon as they landed if they pressed the button just before landing) in the jam version, but it was a noticeable improvement. It's something I will very much prioritize in the future.
Too Many Ideas
Beyond those nice quality of life additions, I wanted to add as many levels as I could. I did my best to fill the jam version with as many levels as I could possibly fit in the time limit. However, level ideas that explored interesting consequences of the game's systems just kept coming to me, so many didn't make it into the jam version.
With the benefit of more time, I was able to realize many level concepts and make even more. I even had a few levels that I finished, but I thought didn't end up interesting enough to warrant putting in the game. I tried to only add a level if it genuinely added, explored, or explained something new.
From this process, the number of levels doubled from 30 in the jam version to 60 in the updated version.
